Fashion Merchandising & Buying tackles all activities in the Merchandising Cycle - having the right fashion merchandise available in the proper quantities and place, at the right time, price, and quality, to meet customer satisfaction at a profit. It also introduces concepts by which retailers create special store-brand merchandise for targeted customer segments.
The course introduces basic concepts, principles and techniques used by retail buyers as they complete their day-to-day duties and responsibilities. A step-by-step approach is presented for buying tasks that give participants the opportunity to develop buying skills with a marketing orientation.

The course aims to impart on students a sufficient working knowledge of the Merchandising Cycle, particularly at the buying stage.
